Here is an interesting tour that will expose your group to the rich history and heritage of Cornwall and the Seaway Valley.
DAY 1 - Life in the 1860's
Plan to arrive at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg at noon and lunch at Willard’s Hotel in the Village. Spend the afternoon in this re-creation of an 1860's community - you will meet costumed interpreters going about the business of the day - baking bread, shoeing horses, plowing fields ......
Dine in Morrisburg and spend an hour or so exploring the specialty shops of the area in the Morrisburg Plaza.
Evening could be spent enjoying professional summer theatre at Upper Canada Playhouse. The Playhouse offers something for everyone each season - from the hilarious to the dramatic - guaranteed entertainment.
The short 25 minute drive into Cornwall will help you to relax before you retire for the night at one of our many full service hotels.
DAY 2 - The Waterfront .. Yesterday and Today
A leisurely breakfast, and then a tour of the mighty St. Lawrence River waterfront and the "Lost Villages". Our knowledgeable Step-On Guide will tell you how the U.S. and Canadian Governments together created the St. Lawrence Seaway. The mid 1950's were a dramatic period of time where entire villages were moved to higher ground, while others were completely flooded over as the landscape and the lives of residents were altered forever.
You must then tour the buildings at the Lost Villages Museum and view the video and the numerous photos of the activities surrounding this historic event.
A tour of the Seaway Valley would not be complete without sampling our famous "Lancaster Perch Rolls" at lunch and touring the outdoor heritage murals in the afternoon
