Winterfest in Cornwall

Celebrate Winter - February 14-15, 2010 in Lamoureux Park in Downtown Cornwall. Activities will take place from noon to 4 pm both days. There is also one activity at Big Ben on Feb 14th. Big Ben will host the Snow Jam with Bands performing as follows: 1pm EWA - 2pm Dark Days or Fair - 3pm Fathom Ties.

There is sure to be something for every age! the highlight this year will be the ice sculpture demonstration - 8 or more sculptures, including Disney figures will happen in Lamoureux Park at 2pm on Sunday - come and see how it is done!

Children's activities will include a balloon jumping castle and slide, face painting, balloon art and arts and crafts inside the Civic Complex in Salon B.

The Aquatic Centre hosts free swims from noon to 1:50 pm on Sunday and from noon until 2:50 pm on Monday. The outdoor rink will be operational each day and you can skate with the Cornwall Colts on Monday from 1 to 3 pm. If you prefer indoor skating, the Civic Complex is hosting free skates from noon to 1pm and 2pm to 3pm on Monday.

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit will host a snow shoe course run on Sunday and on Monday will host a Dog Sled demonstration on Monday.

Cornwall Crossfit will conduct a demonstration workout on the Bandshell on Sunday from 1pm to 2pm.

Food? Oh yes, plenty of that too! Hot Chocolate will be served in Salon C at the Civic Complex both days. Hot Apple Cider will be served at the Cornwall Community Museum from noon to 3pm, both days. Pancakes will be served on the Civic Complex Salon Patio on Sunday from noon until supplies run out. On Monday, hot dogs will be available from noon again until supplies run out. And there will be a maple taffy demonstration on Monday beginning at 1pm.

To make it even more attractive, a free bus shuttle will be available both days.
