Cornwall Night At The Races

Rideau Cornwall Raceway, the venerable Ottawa entertainment landmark, is honouring the City of Cornwall at a special night of harness racing on Friday November 27th. Over 100 people from Cornwall are expected to make the trek to the Raceway, which is located in the southeast part of Ottawa on Albion Road.

Rideau Carleton Raceway has been operating since 1962. It's main feature is live standardbred harness horse racing, which attracts thousands of sports fans every race night. The Raceway also has a 650 seat dining room overlooking Canada's fastest 5/8th mile track, the perfect place to enjoy the panoramic view of the race track and cheer on your favourite horse and driver.

The night will also be a fundraiser for Cornwall's new multi-use sports facility (Project 3+1 2010). The new facility will be an exciting addition to Cornwall's line-up of world class amenities.

Cornwall Night at Rideau Carleton Raceway is sponsored by the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce and Team Cornwall. Tickets to the evening are only $30.00 per person, which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, coffee or tea, a race program, a $5.00 SLOTS voucher, a $5.00 Dining Room voucher (good for your next visit to Rideau Carleton) with premiere window seating for live harness racing action. Tickets are available for purchase at the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce located on the corner of Second and Syndey Streets 613-933-4004. Post time for the first race is 6:30 pm.

Delaney Bus Lines has once again shown their community spirit by making the ChooseCornwall commuter bus available for the event. The ChooseCornwall Bus will leave to take you to the Raceway and back to Cornwall. Bus rides are $10 per person, however, seating is limited, so sign up quickly!
